🌸 Weather Report presentation: to review and get signed. Still waiting on 4. Thank you for all that were returned so far.
🌸 Remembrance Day ceremony will occur at school on Nov. 10th. Students are invited to create a wreath or a cross, either individually or with a partner. The Remembrance Day crosses and wreathes will then be displayed in our classroom. Afterwards, we will decide through a voting process which item will represent our class on Nov. 10th. Thank you for your optional participation in this activity. (this was discussed in detail with the kids today)
🌸 Science: "La météo" (Weather).
- Collected weather data: This assignment was due on Tuesday of this week. For students who have not completed their 10 entries, they will continue recording each day (including weekends now), until the 10 daily entries are done and then pass it in. Thank you. I am still waiting on the return of 2.
🌸 Assessment "Unité 2 - Évaluation 1 et 2" on the N1 outcomes was returned to students today to review, get signed by a parent. I am waiting on the return of 3. Thank you.
🌸 French writing: Each child is creating a fun descriptive writing piece of their friendly Halloween monster.
🌸 Math: Students are to practice their x2, x4, x8, x3, x6, x10, x5, x9, x7math facts (multiplication) for 10 minutes. Parents can assist their child using dice, cards, etc.
These are the outcomes that we are continuing to work on this week:
N1a: "Read and write whole numbers to 1 000 000."
N1b: "Describe personal referents for large benchmark numbers (100, 1000, 10 000, 100 000, 250 000, 500 000, 750 000, 1 000 000)."
N1c: "Flexibly express numbers in a variety of ways, including expanded notation."
N1d: "Describe the value of number digits and the pattern of place value."
Today's specific math homework: (*This homework was given last Thursday so should have been completed for all students.) Using the worksheet completed Thursday, students will do the following and have it completed for Tuesday, Nov. 1st. (using the corrected and completed form used to write the populations out using the place value table and in "ordre croissant"). Here is what needs to be done:
- Représenter #1 et 2 avec le matériel de base dix (with base ten material); #3, 4, 5, 6 en lettres (in letter form); #7, 8, 9 à la forme décomposée/développée (in expanded form); #10 et 11 avec le langage de tableau de valeur (ex. 347 894 →34 dizaines de mille, 78 centaines et 94 unités); #12 et 13 en tableau de valeur (place value table form); #14 à la forme symbolique (standard form)
🌸 "Carnet French Reading": For the period of Oct. 31st - Nov. 6th , there should be a total of 4 readings of 15 minutes done over 4 different days (see the short explanation on the right under "Items of note".) Carnet needs to be handed in completed on Monday, November 7th . Thank you.
