🌸 Science: "La météo" (Weather).
- Collected weather data: This assignment was due yesterday. For students who have not completed their 10 entries, they will continue recording each day (including weekends now), until the 10 daily entries are done and then pass it in. I am still waiting on the return of 6.
🌸 Billet de sortie "N1c(b)": still waiting on the return of 2. Thank you for those that have already been returned.
🌸 N1c, N1d & PR1a assignment (to review and get signed by a parent): Waiting on the return of 3. Thank you to those who have already returned theirs.
🌸 French writing for this week: Students are busy writing up their biography on the person that they respect. (The assignment will be completed by Friday.)
🌸 Étude de mots: Spelling test is Friday.
🌸 Math: Students are to practice their x2, x4, x8, x3, x6, x10, x5, x9, x7math facts (multiplication) for 10 minutes. Parents can assist their child using dice, cards, etc.
These are the outcomes that we are continuing to work on this week:
N1a: "Read and write whole numbers to 1 000 000."
N1b: "Describe personal referents for large benchmark numbers (100, 1000, 10 000, 100 000, 250 000, 500 000, 750 000, 1 000 000)."
N1c: "Flexibly express numbers in a variety of ways, including expanded notation."
N1d: "Describe the value of number digits and the pattern of place value."
Today's specific math homework: none except for the above if needed
🌸 "Carnet French Reading": For the period of Oct. 17th - 23rd , there should be a total of 5 readings of 15 minutes done over 5 different days (see the short explanation on the right under "Items of note".) Carnet needs to be handed in completed on Monday, October 24th. Thank you.
🌸 Science: "Weather Report" project. Today, students were given more class time to practice presenting their weather report on the city and day that they collected their information (I believe the information was collected on Oct. 13th for most of us). Two days ago, I uploaded a copy of a weather report that I wrote a few years back to serve as a guideline as to what this looks like. My report uses the information from my organigramme. (*Each child should understand what the requirements are for this project as much discussion about this has been done over the last few days.)
For tomorrow's presentations (Oct. 20th), students can also include props to make their weather report even more interesting. This is a French/Science, cross-curricular assignment. Remember to practice presenting your report at home.
