🌸 Math: Students are to practice their x2, x4, x8, x3, x6, x10, x5, x9, x7math facts (multiplication) for 10 minutes. Parents can assist their child using dice, cards, etc.
These are the outcomes that we are continuing to work on this week:
N1a: "Read and write whole numbers to 1 000 000."
N1b: "Describe personal referents for large benchmark numbers (100, 1000, 10 000, 100 000, 250 000, 500 000, 750 000, 1 000 000)."
N1c: "Flexibly express numbers in a variety of ways, including expanded notation."
N1d: "Describe the value of number digits and the pattern of place value."
Today's specific math homework: none for today, simply review concepts if needed.
🌸 "Carnet French Reading": For the period of Oct. 11th to 16th , there should be a total of 4 readings of 15 minutes done over 4 different days (see the short explanation on the right under "Items of note".) Carnet needs to be handed in completed on Monday, October 17th. Thank you.
🌸 Science: "La météo" (Weather).
- Students are collecting weather data the following websites: (copy and paste into a new web browser to access sites)
http:www.meteo.gc.ca/index_f.html and
http:www.meteomedia.ca
For this week collection dates are: Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. There should be a total of 9 entries in by Monday, Oct. 17th.) The collection sheet will be turned in on Tuesday, Oct. 20th, showing a total of 10 entries and then this assignment will be completed.
🌸 Science: "Weather Report" project. Because a number of students did not have the data required to start writing up their weather report (see yesterday's post explaining the requirements needed for the organigramme that was due for today), students will work on their draft write-up of a weather report on Monday instead of today. Please ensure that you are ready with all of your information for a single day for Monday's class. The weather report that they will present to their classmates next week, is due for Thursday, Oct. 20th. This is a French/Science, cross-curricular assignment. Both props and posters can be added if this helps with the presentation. * Each child should understand what is required as much discussion about this has been done over the last few days.
🌸 Please enjoy a lovely and safe weekend!
