🌸 Science: Our summative assessment on "La météo" will be next Thursday, Nov. 10th. Please see the Upcoming Assessment drop down menu to find an outline, to help prepare for this.
🌸 As part of our Weather Unit in Science, we are presently looking at climate change and global warming, and its affect on our planet. To make a little difference, we want to symbolically adopt a Canadian animal that is endangered. After completing a survey, the chosen animal is the Caribou (Reindeer). The animals that we voted for today, have been all affected by climate change. You can find out more through the website WWf.ca (World Wildlife Fund). The cost to adopt an animal is 40$ and it is voluntary. If your child wants, he/she can bring in a dollar or two towards this cost. It's a small, but generous gesture, that will help a good cause. Once we symbolically adopt the animal, our class will receive a stuffed animal, and a certificate that we can proudly display throughout our year. Thank you.
🌸 Remembrance Day ceremony will occur at school on Nov. 10th. Students are invited to create a wreath or a cross, either individually or with a partner. The Remembrance Day crosses and wreathes will then be displayed in our classroom. Afterwards, we will decide through a voting process which item will represent our class on Nov. 10th. Thank you for your optional participation in this activity. (this was discussed in detail with the kids last week)
🌸 French writing: Each child is creating a fun descriptive writing piece of their friendly Halloween monster.
🌸 Math: Students are to practice their x2, x4, x8, x3, x6, x10, x5, x9, x7math facts (multiplication) for 10 minutes. Parents can assist their child using dice, cards, etc.
