🌸 Permission form for Thursday's concert is being sent home today. (There is a small cost to this event.) On Thursday, December 15th, all of our Grade 5 Immersion students, along with others from specified grades, will be attending a wonderful presentation at the Capitol Theatre. We will be entertained by some amazing, French Acadian musicians. A permission form will be sent home shortly, giving your son or daughter permission to attend this event. This is an all morning event.
🌸 Math: We are now exploring "Estimation" outcomes.
Here are the N2 outcomes that we are examining over the next few weeks:
N2a) Use compatible numbers to estimate a sum or product in a variety of contexts, including those in which overestimating is important.
N2b) Use compensation to estimate the solution to a problems with a variety of context, including those in which overestimating is important.
N2c) Use front-end rounding to estimate in a variety of contexts and all four operations, including those in which overestimating is important.
N2d) Select and use an efficient estimation strategy for a given problem (including but not limited to compatible numbers, compensation, and front-end rounding).

🌸 "Carnet French Reading": For the period of Dec. 5th - 11th, there should be a total of 5 readings of 15 minutes done over 5 different days (see the short explanation on the right under "Items of note".) Carnet needs to be handed in completed on Monday, December 11th . Thank you
🌸 Social Studies: "Ancient Societies - La Nubie". We have compared our climate to that of theirs, by the Nile River.
